ODOT Summit County Bridge Beams

ODOT reconstructs I-76 in Summit County Akron, Ohio in this two-year project (3 Phases) with ODOT investing $25,500,000 to reconstruct and widen approximately one mile of Interstate 76. This portion of I-76 will add one more lane in each direction plus the reconfiguration of the East Avenue / Wooster Road / State Street interchange which will improve traffic safety. The steel for the project is 1,104,700 lbs. of which 600,000 lbs. will be galvanized.

V&S Columbus Galvanizing worked closely with Kard Welding & Fabrication located in Minster, Ohio.

Communication is always important especially on projects that cover an extended timeline. Inside sales / customer service played a big part in making the three phases move along smoothly regarding scheduling and keeping the project on time. The galvanized material / project will stand the test of time regarding coating durability and corrosion performance. All key members worked closely together to make the ODOT project a success.
